NOVEMBER 2025
The five miles of I-90 from SH-41 to US-95 are the most heavily traveled and congested in the corridor. Construction started in early fall 2025 and is anticipated to be completed in 2029.

Improvements
-
Add two lanes in each direction, for a total of four lanes eastbound and four lanes westbound
-
Replace and widen bridges over Huetter Road, Atlas Road, and Prairie Trail
-
Realign and improve impacted sections of Prairie Trail and Centennial Trail
-
Lengthen existing interchange on- and off-ramps at SH-41, Northwest Boulevard, and US-95 to allow for safer merging with I-90 traffic
The I-90 widening improvements between SH-41 and US-95 are underway and anticipated to take four construction seasons to complete.

Drivers can expect:
-
Work typically Monday-Friday, with some night and weekend activity
-
Two-lane traffic maintained in each direction during daytime hours
-
Nighttime lane reductions as needed
-
Variable speed limits — watch for posted speed limits in the work zone and drive accordingly
-
Short-term detours on Huetter and Atlas roads during bridge construction
-
Ramp closures for up to one week for widening and reconstruction, as needed
-
Reduced shoulder widths throughout the project area
-
Intermittent impacts to the trails, including detours and gravel surfaces
Please note: Construction schedules and impacts are subject to change.
